Green Screen Videos for Real Estate
Why Real Estate Agents Should Be Using Green Screen Videos (and How to Nail Them)
Green screen videos aren’t just for blockbuster movies or viral TikToks — they’re a powerful tool for real estate agents to stand out in a crowded market, share expertise, and connect with clients. Whether you’re showcasing a listing, breaking down real estate stats, or promoting a community event, green screen videos can elevate your marketing game and help you build a memorable brand.
Green Screen Videos are where the host of the video is talking while the picture or video behind them is a different background.
Why Use Green Screen Videos in Real Estate?
Green screen videos are more than just a fun gimmick. They’re a creative, engaging way to:
- Showcase your expertise: Whether you’re explaining a market trend or sharing a new listing, green screens let you present information in a professional and polished way.
- Grab attention: With the right visuals, you’ll stop the scroll and get noticed in crowded feeds.
- Stand out: Most agents aren’t using this tool, which means you can position yourself as a forward-thinking, innovative expert.
Green screen videos give you the chance to connect with your audience in a way that’s visually appealing and packed with value.
Tips for Creating Great Green Screen Videos
To make your green screen videos stand out, keep these essential tips in mind:
- Master the Lighting: Make sure your green screen is evenly lit to avoid weird shadows or glitches in the background. Natural light works in a pinch, but a ring light is even better.
- Choose Your Outfit Wisely: Don’t wear green unless you want to look like a floating head! Stick to solid colors that contrast with your chosen background.
- Pick Clear Backgrounds: Whether it’s listing photos or video, market data, or AI-generated designs, the background should complement your message, not distract from it.
How I Create Green Screen Videos
I use three different tools depending on the type of video I’m creating. Here’s how I do it:
1. Instagram Stories Green Screen Filter
This is my go-to for videos where I’m talking about a listing, news article, real estate stats, or community events. Here’s my process:
- I prefer the Instagram Stories green screen filter over the Reels filter because Reels tends to glitch.
- Using Stories, I record up to one-minute clips in sections, saving them to my camera roll without posting them.
- I keep the “raw” footage and upload it to an editing app like CapCut to polish it.
This method is great for longer videos where I’m sharing information directly with my audience.
2. CapCut Meme Templates
When I want something quick, fun, and eye-catching, I turn to CapCut’s green screen templates. Here’s how it works:
- Open CapCut and search for templates using keywords like “green screen,” “real estate,” “holiday,” or even pop culture references like a movie title or song lyric.
- These templates are ideal for short, scroll-stopping videos. Think of them as teasers for a new listing or hot real estate news.
- No talking is required! Simply pair a few seconds of B-roll with a creative hook to grab attention.
Pro tip: Play around with the text and timing to make the video pop and deliver your message clearly.
3. Canva for Green Screen Backgrounds
Yes, you can use Canva to create green screen videos, and it’s a fantastic option for custom visuals. Here’s how:
- Use Canva’s Magic Media tool to generate AI-powered backgrounds. For example, I’ve used prompts like “pink luxury home in Florida” to create unique, eye-catching designs.
- You can also design backgrounds featuring stats, branding, or seasonal themes for your videos.
This is perfect for adding a personal, polished touch to your green screen content while standing out from the crowd.
Where to Use Your Green Screen Videos
The possibilities for green screen videos are endless. Don’t just stop at social media — get creative with how you use them to connect with your audience:
- Social Media Posts: Share your videos on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts to reach more people and build your brand.
- Email Campaigns: Use tools like BombBomb to embed videos in emails, adding a personal touch to your communication.
- Text Messages: Send short, impactful videos directly to clients for listings, market updates, or follow-ups.
Green screen videos are an excellent way to deliver value in a way that’s both engaging and memorable.
